Roman sideviews, full of texture

I am missing Rome.  The beauty, the history, the ART.

So for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, I decided to hunt through my pictures from Rome for a few unique ones I had not shared yet.  Cee’s topic for this week’s challenge is :View from the Side.  Such an interesting perspective to take and one we often forget about.

I also feel that all 3 of these pictures show lovely and unique texture, so this is my entry for De Monte Y Mar’s Tuesdays of Texture, as well.

Weekly Photo Challenge: “Shadows” in love

The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is “shadow”.  In honor of Valentine’s Day coming up, my photo has a loving theme.

This is a picture of my husband and I standing in St.Peter’s Square in Rome.  I like how the hat and bag I was wearing make my shadowed figure look like she is from the Victorian Era with a wide-brimmed hat and hoop skirt.

We are two travelers “Shadowed by Love“.

Thursday Doors- Rome

For this week’s Thursday Doors, I bring you a few doors from “The Eternal City” of Rome, Italy!  Many will agree, there is no comparison to the history and architecture of Rome.  You could spend YEARS looking at all the unique doors in Rome.   So here is just the smallest sampling.  Pictures don’t do them justice.

All my doors this week are from churches in Rome.

Roma, Roma, Roma…the city of beautiful art, history, faith, and…FOOD!!

Italy is known for their delicious wine, pizza, and pasta.  However, I can not eat gluten, so the land of bread and pasta was a bit daunting to me.  I worried I would starve while drooling over my husband’s delicious meals.  Boy oh boy was I wrong! Continue reading

While Day 1 in Rome was filled with travel and history, Day 2 was more relaxing with a focus on art and faith.  On Day 2, we went to the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and Trastevere.  I have several tips for navigating these sites with ease.

Our European Adventure! Part 1: The Booking Details

This July my hubby and I celebrated 5 years of marriage and my 30th birthday.  We have had many wonderful memories in those 5 years, but we have also gone through tough times.  Infertility wears on a couple.  We decided we needed to reward ourselves for the strength we have shown over the years.  We wanted to treat ourselves and take a special trip that would really give us time to focus on each other and check off a few of bucket list items.
