I have never been a huge fan of Valentine’s Day. I am not bitter against it, I just don’t feel a real connection to it. My hubby and I make a point of celebrating our love every day. We have date night at least once a week and take little trips throughout the year. Valentine’s Day is just another day in our love story.
However, I do realize that there are many who are aching for a valentine today.
Maybe you had love and lost it in one way or another, and you miss your valentine terribly.
Maybe you have a valentine but they are far away, and you ache for them to come back to you.
Maybe you have not met your great love yet, and you are waiting for your valentine to arrive.
Whatever situation you are in, please know my heart is with you. I understand the pain of missing someone you love and also waiting for your great love. You are in my thoughts. Hang in there. God has amazing things planned for you; His plan just takes time.
In the meanwhile, look around you. Look at all the people in your life. Think of those who care about you and love you. Valentines come in all shapes and sizes. Most of us have many valentines in our lives that we may not even realize. We are so busy thinking of that one special valentine that we miss all the others around us.
Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic love. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate all kinds of love. So rejoice in all those valentines that you DO have in your life right now: your parents, your children, your friends, your coworkers.
Be kind to one another and know that…
You Are Loved.
