I don’t know about you, but I have been draaaagggging this week. Jumping back into work and the regular routine has been tough. Even Bailey has been feeling it. After relaxing and spending time with family and friends, it is hard to find the motivation to get up early each morning and jump back into the swing of things.
Don’t get me wrong…routine is very important. It helps us to stay organized and reach our goals. Routine keeps us on track. I thrive on routine. But every now and then…
a break in routine is just what we need. The holidays provide that break for many.
So whether you are trying to bounce back from your holiday downtime or you feel like you need a break from your winter break due to all the traveling and merriment, I hope you take some time to reflect.
Try to reflect back and pick at least one moment that made your break in routine so special. Maybe it was seeing your baby’s wide eyes on Christmas morning or the joy in a family member’s face when you gave them a beloved gift. Maybe you took joy in staying up until midnight on New Year’s with your sweetheart or perhaps you were in head by 10 and actually got to sleep in for once.
Whatever your memories may be, don’t let them be blurred by the post-holiday blues. Reflect, rest a bit, and look forward to your next little break in routine. 🙂
