Caught in a Downpour!

Yesterday I was walking Bailey and out of nowhere it started POURING!  It was not just pouring cats and dogs…all of Noah’s Ark was pouring down on us!  We were stuck  clear on the other side of the neighborhood, so there was nothing to do but make a run for it.  And run we did…

I could not see a thing!  I have taken showers that were less wet.  About half way through, when I could see the rain was not letting up and Bailey, my Fit Bit, and I were soaked to the bone…I stopped running.  I stopped running and started to laugh…

You are not weak.

I am the type of person who does not like to admit when something is wrong.  I try to handle everything on my own.  I detest going to the doctor for fear they will tell me something is wrong that I can’t fix.  I rarely ask others for help at work because I don’t like to look weak or incapable.  However, infertility has really given me a tough reality check.

With infertility, you have to ask questions.  You have to advocate for yourself.  You have to be vulnerable.  You have to admit that it is not your fault.  You are not weak.  In reality, you are so much stronger than you know.

Meet Bailey!

I firmly believe that pets are gifts straight from God, just as children are.  I grew up always having a dog in the house.  My dad is allergic, so I am not sure how my mom convinced him to get dogs, but she won some how.

A few months after “The Pilot” and I got engaged, we talked about getting a dog.  On Valentine’s Day weekend in 2011, we had no plans so we decided to just “go looking” at dogs.  We were NOT going to come home with one.  We were     just      going      to      look.

Do you see where this is going? 😉

My First Stitch Fix Review- Sept. 2016

I got my first “Fix” of clothes from Stitch Fix last week, and I am beyond thrilled!  It actually arrived 2 days before I scheduled it to, so that was a bonus!   If you don’t know what Stitch Fix is, go back and read this post first.

For this Fix, I wrote a very specific note to my stylist.  I was very honest and told her I have endometriosis.  I told her that anything tight on my tummy was a “no-go”.  I explained that my goal was to find clothes that were loose enough for me to be comfortable, but still made me feel beautiful and stylish.  I knew this would be a hard goal to meet.  I usually end up in baggy sweats half way through the day because I just can’t stand the fit of clothes these days.

But let me tell you…my stylist, Anna, did her research!  She rocked my first Fix!

I love Stitch Fix! What is it?

I am excited to say that I finally joined the Stitch Fix craze!  I fought the urge for quite some time because:

  1. I don’t like to run with the crowd.

  2. I am all kinds of CHEAP.

  3. I didn’t believe it would work for me.

However, my friend’s adorable wardrobe and my constant battle with today’s fashion, finally convinced me to take the plunge.  My experience with Stitch Fix also gave me the final push to start this blog.  Their attention to my needs (specifically endometriosis) blew me away.  I knew I needed to share my personal experience with others who have needs similar to mine.  So, here you go… Continue reading

Laparoscopy- You found what?!

Image result for surgeon penguin

I used to be so proud of myself, because I had…

  • no broken bones

  • no stitches

  • no surgeries

Then, that all changed.

If you have not read the first part of this story, go ahead and read this post about what led me to schedule my very first surgery for endometriosis.

Endo Belly

First of all, I want you to know that I am not sharing this post because I want your pity (although prayers are always appreciated).  I am sharing this for the millions of gals out there who are just like me. I want you to know… YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

You are not alone…

Do you find yourself searching the internet for people who share your story or even just one, seemingly insignificant, two-week-wait symptom?

Do you search Youtube, forums, blogs, or any darn thing you can get your eyes on just to find someone… ANYONE… who has an answer for your infertile woes?

Are you ready to throw in the towel every time AF shows her ugly face or you get another rejection email about a possible adoption match?
